At some point in our lives, we all must have thought of exploring the world.
Well I too have this thought but the difference is I want to do it on my Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 (I named my bike Ikaris as majority of bikers likes to name their bikes so do I).
Hi, I am Manas Nigam and my aim is to share my experience as a beginner about my biking journey.
I still remember the day when I had purchased my bike it was 14th of February 2017 and since then I wanted to explore the roads on my bike but due to my studies and work commitments I was not able to do it.
Last year in 2021 in the month of october I got the opportunity and I finally got the chance to hit the road.
Few days before the Rakshabandhan my cousin came to me and said
“Lets go for a ride ” I was shocked hearing him say that because he rides Honda Activa and as we all know that it is not meant for long rides ,So I asked him ”Are you planning to take a bike on rent ?”
“No!“ he said
“So how are you planning to go?” I asked
He said in a casual tone “On my Activa!”
So after our brief conversation on how we will manage one person on bike and another on activa we had a discussion about the destination, he suggested that we should go to Pachmarhi its 215 KMS from Bhopal, so I said instead of Pachmarhi we should go to Indore which is 197KMS from Bhopal as it is our first ride. He also agreed on the same.
But after all the planning we did not get the permission from our home. If you’re someone who loves touring on bike then you will be able to understand how much effort it will take to convince our parents for the same. It gets postponed till October.
In october we got the chance to hit the road and this time we decided to go From Bhopal to Indore and then from Indore to Omkareshwar . Meanwhile I had purchased all the riding gears which is necessary for safety.
